Extras...

Just some extra pictures...because they're cute!

Swimming!!

Karly's first time swimming!! Saturday we all got our swimmy suits on and went for a dip. Karly did really well. She didn't crack a smile, but she didn't cry either. She was just very curious and mellow. She even put up with her ridiculously large sun hat! Kelly would pull her through the water and she would spread out her arms, so as not to touch the water--but she would kick her little legs under water. I think she's a natural swimmer...well except for the part of not wanting to touch the water. Please ignore Kelly's awesome farmer tan!

Nap-time

Karly's mattress is elevated at the head of the bed to help with her acid reflux. As night wears on, or in this case nap-time, she slowly slides down to the bottom of the bed. Because of this, we have added a folded blanket on top of the bumper pad for extra padding. Well, the other day I went in to get her up from her nap because I could hear her in there chattering away...and this is how I found her.

She had kicked her feet under the blanket, under the bumper pad, and had her blankie on top of her too!! This is Arizona...do you think she was warm enough?!? She had also pulled the bumper over, which had come untied, so that she could put it where everything else goes--in her mouth. She is a silly, silly girl!

Big girl

It's kind of hard to tell from the picture, but this is Karly trying to sit up. This is the position I find her in most often--underneath all that chubs, she must have abs of steel. She loves to be sitting up like a big girl!

A very big girl!

New-found Love

Karly has found the remote control, and she LOVES it! (Poppy-you'd be so proud!) She cries whenever I take it away from her...it's hers.

Rolling Over

Finally!! Karly has been a little stinker. She hates to be on her stomach so much that we thought she would never learn to roll over. All she would do is scream! But Saturday she finally discovered how to solve this problem all by herself, and she rolled! Now I guess the problem will be getting her to roll the other way. She's really close--she always rolls on her side to go to sleep. But, since she hates being on her tummy so much, she may never go voluntarily. Hopefully she'll just discover how fun rolling all over the house can be!

Sweet Karly Jo

Karly has learned a new trick--sticking out her tongue. It's not just the regular "I'm a baby and I can't control my tongue so it hangs out" sort of way. It is deliberate and cute. She will even try NOT to smile while she is busy sticking it out--which for those of you who know how smiley she is, can imagaine how this is probably a difficult task for her. It makes us laugh everytime! (which I'm sure "eggs" it on.) But I'm also sure she'll be learning a new trick in no time and will have moved on to doing something different, and just as cute!

Hey Everyone!

Now that we have Karly, I have been looking for a way to be able to share pictures and stories with all our family and friends on a daily...more likely weekly basis. And here it is! (thanks to Kim, we found blogspot.com) So, hopefully this will work well and be safe--I'm usually very suspicious of internet stuff, but this looks to be okay. And, hopefully I have the settings right and you can post comments and stuff back to us. Anyways, we hope this works and you enjoy our family blog!
